"Our cattle forage for themselves, eating succulent grasses such as timothy grass, blue grama, red top and clover. They drink live water from mountain streams and roam freely. This environment creates a superior taste in the beef."

    Books on Grass Fed Beef

In addition to lots of information on the web, we encourage you to read books and articles on grass fed beef and healthy eating.

A few we can personally recommend include:

Pasture Perfect, The Far-Reaching Benefits of Choosing Meat, Eggs, and Dairy Products from Grass-Fed Animals by Jo Robinson (also the owner of the http://www.eatwild.com/). Published Vashon Island Press, 2004.

The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan. Published by The Penguin Press,2006. His website, http://michaelpollan.com, is also a useful resource.

Steak: One Man's Search for the World's Tastiest Piece of Beef by Mark Schatzker. Published by Viking, 2010.

http://.stockmangrassfarmer.com will connect you to the StockmanGrass Farmer. Allan Nation's website and monthly periodical is a gem of a source of information on all things grass fed from ranch and grazing management to economics of the industry.

We love cooking grass-fed beef and all pasture raised meats. Two books that celebrate pasture raised meats and cooking it:

The Grassfed Gourmet Cookbook by Shannon Hayes. Published by Eating Fresh Publications, 2004.

The River Cottage Meat Cookbook by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Published by Ten Speed Press, 2007.

Cooking should be fun. One of my favorite cookbooks was written by three friends who love to "..cook and eat meat. .talk about meat..". Their recipe for "Beef 'n' Beer Stew is one of my favorite beef recipes and it works great with Brandon Natural Beef!

Meat Club Cookbook: for Gals Who Love Their Meat! by Vanessa Dina, Kristina Fuller, and Gemma DePalma. Published by Chronicle books, LLC, 2006
